Following upload of a geolocated video by a content creator, Kinomap performs a conversion of the source video, to guarantee harmonization of the videos available, and to maximize compatibility with the devices and consoles on which the application can be used.
Here we give you the technical characteristics of videos encoded in this way using libx264 codecs.
After processing the source video, three resolutions are produced:
1080p resolution (FHD)
720p resolution (HD)
360p resolution (SD)
For each resolution, two frame rates can be rendered, depending on the source video: 30fps or 60fps.
The maximum bitrate depends on these two characteristics:
- 1080p 60 fps: 10 Mbps max
- 1080p 30fps : 6,5 Mbps max
- 720p 60fps : 3,5 Mbps max
- 720p 30fps : 2 Mbps max
- 480p 60fps: 2 Mbps max
- 480p 30fps : 1 Mbps max
Consequently, to obtain the best-quality video available on Kinomap, the source video must be at least 1080p, 30fps and 6500 Mbps.
Please note that even if a source video has the same characteristics as the video rendered by Kinomap, it will be encoded (automatic process compulsory).
