You’ve probably heard about the upcoming end of support for KETTMaps. No need to worry — not all is lost. We explain in more detail what this means for you in this article:
Here are the main changes caused by this decision:
- The app is scheduled to be removed from the App Store in August of this year. This means it will no longer be installable on your phone/tablet after that date.
- The app will no longer receive updates.
- We will no longer provide technical support for KETTMaps once it has been removed from the Store.
- It is no longer possible to subscribe via the app through Apple’s services. New subscriptions are still possible via our website.
- You may be able to use the Kinomap app instead.
Want to continue using our features?
There are two options depending on your equipment: either keep KETTMaps on your phone/tablet or switch to Kinomap.
- You should keep KETTMaps:
If your equipment uses Bluetooth Classic, you should continue using the KETTMaps app.
Devices using Bluetooth Classic must first be paired through your phone/tablet's Bluetooth settings before being paired in the app.
Bluetooth Classic (an older version of Bluetooth) is not compatible with the Kinomap app. If you try to pair such equipment with Kinomap, the app will redirect you to KETTMaps.
/!\ Warning: Never uninstall the KETTMaps app from your phone/tablet, as reinstalling it later will not be possible.
- You can switch to Kinomap:
If your equipment uses Bluetooth Smart, we recommend using the Kinomap app.
Devices using Bluetooth Smart must be paired directly through the app.
Bluetooth Smart (the newer version of Bluetooth) is compatible with the Kinomap app.
Both apps share the same account:
- Use the same KETTMaps login credentials to sign in to Kinomap.
- Your personal information remains unchanged.
- You will find all your previous KETTMaps activities in Kinomap.
Do you have an active KETTMaps subscription?
Staying on KETTMaps:
- If you subscribed via our website at https://dashboard.kinomap.com/fr/subscriptions, everything is in order, and your subscription will continue and renew automatically.
- If you subscribed via the app using Apple services, everything is in order, and your subscription will continue and renew automatically.
/!\ If at some point we remove the option to renew subscriptions via the app, your current subscription will continue until the end of the paid period but will not be renewed.
Switching to Kinomap:
- If you subscribed via our website at https://dashboard.kinomap.com/fr/subscriptions, everything is in order, and your subscription will continue and renew automatically.
- If you subscribed via the app using Apple services, the App Store treats KETTMaps and Kinomap as two different apps. To continue using your subscription, you will need to contact our technical support team by email: support@kinomap.com. Just explain your situation and include proof of payment. We will manually add a non-renewable Kinomap subscription to your account for a period equal to your remaining paid time.
