If your equipment doesn't have ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart connectivity, you can still train on Kinomap and travel the world!
The optical sensor
On Kinomap, you can activate the front camera of your smartphone or tablet as a stride sensor, which will use your body movements to estimate your running speed.
You will find the setting instructions in this article: How to use the optical sensor? It is a fast, easy & totally free sensor. Enjoy it!
For treadmills
An alternative solution is also available using the RUNN sensor. It is a smart and simple connectivity sensor that connects any treadmill to the Kinomap app. It broadcasts speed, incline, and cadence data to the Kinomap app in real time. Click here for more information.
If you already have this sensor, simply follow the instructions in the article How to add the RUNN sensor to add it to Kinomap.
Outdoor Mode
This mode allows you to record your outdoor training sessions and keep a complete history of all your activities on Kinomap. You can also track your data in real time during your workout and view a summary once your session is complete.
You can learn more about Outdoor Mode by following the article Outdoor Training is Coming to Kinomap!
Using a sensor as the main equipment
You can also connect an sensor as your main equipment if your fitness machine does not have Bluetooth connectivity. The compatible sensor types vary depending on the type of equipment.
Here is the list of sensors that can be used as the main equipment depending on the machine type:
For treadmills: Footpod
For indoor trainers and exercise bikes: cadence, power, or speed sensor
For ellipticals and rowing machines: it is not possible to replace the equipment with sensors as the main equipment
To pair a sensor as the main equipment, select the Sensors brand during the sensor pairing process.
