Thanks to have asked the question as it can be confusing a bit between different brands using different naming...

    On Kinomap:

On smart and interactive machines, the app can pair with it using Bluetooth or Bluetooth Smart connectivity.

Smart means the App can read your speed, cadence, power, heart rate from the console but the resistance or incline is set manually based on instruction you get on the screen.

Interactive means a Smart machine on which the app fully takes control of the machine, adjusting the resistance or incline according to the elevation profile or interval training.

    Thanks Phillipe,

So if I were to get a smart machine, such as the sportstech sx200, the kinomap app would still instruct me on when and how much to adjust the resistance of the bike as I progressed a route?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, we don't give anymore the instruction to adjust the resistance as some bikes have 3, 5, 12 or 25 levels of resistance when others have just a + and - sign... even if we don't show what level of resistance should be set, we continue to adjust your speed according to your effort but also according to the gradient. If you keep the same power going uphill, your speed goes down. if your cadence is too high or low, you can change the resistance as you may do on a bike with the gear shifting. So overall, there is issue as your experience remains realistic on Kinomap.
