Even though the title announces 9 good reasons to subscribe to a Kinomap app, this list is far from being exhaustive. We had to cut to the chase and chose the 9 main arguments. Why 9? Well, why not?
1. Geolocated videos: a Kinomap exclusivity.
For starters, a geolocated video is a mix of a video file and its GPS tracks.
Unfortunately, many action cams don’t allow you to record the GPS track but it is possible to capture it via the bike’s computer, a smartwatch or your smartphone*. Once you record the video and the GPS track, you just need to upload both files to Kinomap. That’s when you will have a full geolocated video with the image, the sound, and the route.
Sometimes, it’s necessary to edit the video. Most of our contributors prefer cutting the beginning and the end of their footage? To make the editing easier (especially since you are manipulating 2 different kinds of files) we created Videotaped.
Finlay, once the video is on the website, it will be available to all our subscriber to train on it. (See argument #4)
2. The competition.
With more than 107 000 subscribers since its launch, Kinomap has a great variety of users.
By the bye, there are all kinds of levels. We have athletes getting sharp for the next Iron Man, we also have cardio lovers and other fitness addicts.
You will find, with no doubt, the suitable videos for your level and discipline among the hundreds of thousands of kilometers on the platform.
Moreover, with fitness dedicated apps and training ones, you will have no trouble finding your place within our community.
3. The variety of the content.
As mentioned before, kinomap.com hosts more than 106 789km of geolocated videos, filmed in 86 countries. These videos were shot from various vehicles such as:
- Drones
- Cars
- Air Ballons
- Shoppers
- Boats
- Rowers
- Walking
- Running
- Bikes
- Motorcycles.
The training dedicated videos (running, cycling and rowing) are diverse. The difficulty, speed and hardness vary from a video to another. To find the suitable video in a glance, you can trust the Kinos**.
Thereby, whether you are a beginner, an amateur or even a pro we have the appropriate videos for you to train in the best conditions.
4. The interactivity.
The Kinomap app suite is compatible with [almost] every indoor training and/or fitness equipment.
Thus, Kinomap’s technology connects the home trainer to the video you are watching and sends all the data concerning the real-life conditions the video has been shot in (difference in height or level, slope, cadence, speed) to your equipment.
Hence, if the video has a 10% slope, the home trainer will, consequently, adapt the difficulty.
On some pieces of equipment, it is even possible to recreate the ground’s texture.
This said non-smart equipment owners can also use third-party sensors** or use the front camera on their smartphone/tablet to translate their movements into cadence.
5. The great number of devices compatible with Kinomap’s app suite.
As mentioned previously, the Kinomap team has been working hard on the compatibility of the apps with the greatest number of home trainers and fitness devices. And it is also possible to connect most of the sensors available on the market.
We are proud to have a large range of compatible devices from the main market players to the smaller equipment makers. This is the result of a tight collaboration with our partners and hours of R&D.
6. An alternative for warm-ups and training sessions.
The interval training mode is a great way to start your training sessions with a warm-up before beginning the hard work. You can choose from a variety of preprogrammed templates (up to 20) and chose the interval that suits your session’s needs.
7. Multiplayer mode.
Playful and competitive, the multiplayer mode will revolutionize your indoor training.
It allows to :
- Create games and invite specific users.
- Challenge users to games created by other athletes.
- Join one of the daily games we will be launching.
However, the multiplayer mode is being tested and will be available by the end of October 2017. If you wish, you too can be a beta tester, by sending a request to support@kinomap.com
8. Partner Apps.
Compatibility with most manufacturers was just the beginning.
Nevertheless, to ensure optimal user experience, we have developed partner applications.
These applications dedicated to manufacturers of indoor sports equipment are an excellent way for new buyers to get the most out of their equipment and enjoy the Kinomap experience.
To this day, we have 3 partner applications. We are proud to collaborate with Kettler on KETTMaps, Decathlon on B’Twin Training and BH on BH by Kinomap.
As a result, the trust placed in us by these brands represents an opportunity to develop quality applications and offer a unique experience to our users.
9. Events by Kinomap.
If the applications are increasingly successful, developers have yet proven that Kinomap’s technology has no limits.
Indeed, the intelligent training on geolocated videos has perfectly adapted to the needs of brands wanting to integrate it to their events.
Skoda, Century 21, Tissot, Ralph Lauren and so many other brands have offered the Kinomap experience to their fans.
It was necessary to adapt several parameters but the base remained the same: Bikes, home trainers and communication between the application and the equipment, which are in Kinomap’s DNA, were well present.
That said, the difference lies in the fact that offline events require special settings and updated real-time ranking without the use of an internet connection.
Finally, if these 9 reasons are not enough for you, do not hesitate to contact us for more information. Our support and social networks (Facebook/Instagram/Twitter) are at your disposal.
